Adding entourage elements such as people, cars, street furniture, plants, trees etc (which we collectively call ‘cutouts’) puts your illustration into context and makes for a far more interesting image. |

When placing cutouts you will see another of the benefits of Piranesi’s use of the ‘depth’ information for each pixel. As you move the cutout around the image to place it, you will see Piranesi scaling it automatically based on its position in the scene. You can even place cutouts ‘behind’ elements within the image, such as buildings – Piranesi will automatically mask the parts of the image that are hidden. |

Cutouts can be 2D raster images or even 3D models, as Piranesi supports the importing of 2D bitmaps, and 3D DXF, SketchUp, Archvision RPC, 3DS or MicroGDS files. All cutouts can be "tweaked" once placed and 3D items can be rotated for the optimum effect. |

To make sure that your cutouts look like a proper part of the scene, rather than just being stuck onto the image, they can also be set to cast shadows like the rest of your image. To try Piranesi for yourself, download a free trial from our Piranesi trial downloads page. |
